Oak Decking

Our green oak decking, which is always cut to order, is extremely durable and will not perish. It allows us to supply green oak for jetties and bridge treads as well as for more traditional patio decking.

Slab Wood, Sawdust and Oak Blocks

We have large stocks of lower grade oak slab wood that can be put to a variety of uses by both professionals and homeowners. We also have oak offcuts for sale by the cubic metre and available from our sister website at www.logsmaidstone.co.uk

Our excess green oak sawdust is also ideal for wood smoking and a variety of other uses.  Please contact us with your requirements.

Also available from our sawmill at Hawkhurst are sensibly priced solid oak blocks that are ideal for door stops, wood-turning projects, bench legs, staircases and speaker stands.

Oak for Education

As an environmentally aware and responsible company, South East Oak Sawmills is determined not to waste timber that does not meet our rigorous quality control procedures but is too good to throw away or burn.

We are proud of the fact that we offer this material for educational purposes, supplying it to college woodworking courses, primary schools for bird box projects or those who want to try their hand at wood working without buying expensive, high-quality timber early in their career.

We also hope this will raise awareness of the natural beauty of oak and the fact that our woods and forests need managing, helping the next generation understand the importance of nature and sustainability.

Oak and Hardwood Burrs

We have solid oak and other hardwood burrs that are snapped up by wood-turners and others who appreciate the natural beauty of interesting hardwood timber in its raw state. Timber on offer includes oak, spalted beech, spalted birch, burr oak block, cherry, yew, holly and sycamore.

All blocks can be cut to order if not in stock. They are sensibly priced and can be delivered or collected from the sawmill in Hawkhurst.

Hardwood Logs for Fungi Culture

South East Forestry supplies hardwood logs suitable for mushroom and toadstool growing to both trade and retail customers. Contact us with your requirements and we will usually be able to supply the ideal piece of hardwood for your fungi-culture project. Freshly felled oak, birch and beech are among the hardwoods suitable for growing mushrooms.
