Our 150mm square sweet chestnut beams offer the strength and character of traditional timber at a significantly lower cost than oak. Freshly sawn from locally sourced British sweet chestnut at our Kent sawmill, they are ideal for:

• Post-and-beam structures and framing
• Pergolas, gazebos, and garden structures
• Gate posts and entrance features
• Heavy-duty landscaping and retaining walls

Sweet chestnut is naturally durable with tannins that resist decay — making it an excellent outdoor timber that requires no chemical treatment. Its lighter colour and distinctive grain give it a character all its own while performing on par with oak for most applications.
